They passed away ages ago,
leaving behind the rules.
The ones which are being imposed on me
yeah, the same old rules.
Dictating every act of mine,
these rules, my undoubted lords.
Reducing every effort of mine,
Do nothing they shall, these callous words.
Smiling on my endaevour,
Making fun of it all.
Here are the bunch of rules,
which mean to say it all.
Binding me in my spirits,
tying down my wings.
This remnant of heritage
now harshly on me, sings.
Making me loose my own,
increasing nothing but my woe.
How shall I respect all these
When nothing but sorrows, they sow.
Yeah, these rules,
ones which resound in each voice.
How shall they approve of me
One, who does not obey the "right" choice.
